IMAC 2022
2nd International Multidisciplinary Academic Conference 2022 (IMAC 2022) is a virtual conference on multidisciplinary fields of research and innovation. It is a collaborative initiative between Politeknik Negeri Medan, Republic of Indonesia (Pol-Med), Politeknik Kota Kinabalu Sabah, Kolej Komuniti Penampang Sabah, Polytechnics and Community Colleges in Borneo as well as the Centre of Research and Innovation (PPI), Department of Polytechnics and Community Colleges, Education Malaysia. The conference would focus on wide range of multidisciplinary topics that centred on “Embracing Teaching and Learning in the Norm Education”. The conference aims to cultivate research and innovation culture among the academics of various fields of study and provide a much-needed platform of sharing valuable knowledge and expertise among the academics and researchers. It anticipates participants from local and international academic institutions to join the conference.

Dr. Saeed Farahany
Head of Research Office at Buein Zahra Technical University
Background:
Dr. Saeed Farahany currently works as Head of Research Office at Buein Zahra Technical University. His research vision is to understand how Al-based and Mg-based composite can be fabricated by stir casting. He studied fundamental principles of solidification of composite using thermal analysis equipped with professional post-process data analysis software. He served as a leading scientist published in “Who is Who in Thermal Analysis and Calorimetry” in 2014. He is a reviewer of 15 journals. He assisted more than 30 undergraduate, master’s, and Ph.D. students at Buein Zahra Technical University and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM).

Dr. Benny Benyamin Nasution
Lecturer and a Researcher at Politeknik Negeri Medan, Medan, Indonesia
Background:
Dr. Benny B. Nasution received the Dipl. Ing. Degree in Computer Engineering (Informatic) from Fachhochschule Aargau Technik, Windisch, Switzerland, in 1993, M.Eng. Degree in Computer Systems Engineering from RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia, in 2000, and Ph.D. Degree in Information Technology from Monash University, Clayton, Australia, in 2008. He worked as a sessional lecturer and a computer engineer at Fachhochschule Aargau Technik. He also worked as a sessional lecturer at Monash University for three years. Currently, he is a Lecturer and a Researcher at Politeknik Negeri Medan, Medan, Indonesia. Mr. Nasution was awarded a Swiss Government Scholarship in 1989–1995, and an Australian Government Scholarship in 1998–2000 and in 2002–2006. He was awarded IBM Internship Award, Tokyo Research Laboratory, Tokyo, Japan, in 2004. He was awarded a Mollie Holman Medal as the best Ph.D thesis in 2007.

Prof. Dr. Jose Wendell Capili
Professor 12 and Assistant Vice President for Public Affairs, University of the Philippines
Background:
Jose Wendell Capili attended the University of Santo Tomas, the University of the Philippines, the University of Tokyo, the University of Cambridge, and the Australian National University, where he earned his Ph.D. He is Professor 12 and Assistant Vice President for Public Affairs, University of the Philippines. He authored 7 books and over 300 articles. He received Carlos Palanca, Cultural Center of the Philippines, National Book Awards for Literature, and fellowships in Australia, Europe, North America, and East and Southeast Asia. He is one of the 7 Achievement Awardees for 2020 of the Department of Science and Technology-National Research Council of the Philippines (DOST-NRCP). He is a Life Member of Clare Hall, University of Cambridge.

Dr. Melvin Mojikon
Director of Penampang Community College, Sabah, Malaysia
Background:
Dr. Melvin Mojikon is currently a Director of Penampang Community College, Sabah, Malaysia under the Ministry of Higher Education, Malaysia. He received his Doctor of Business Administration from Universiti Teknologi MARA, Malaysia. He has also presented numerous papers at local and international conferences in the field of Entrepreneurship. His publications have appeared in local and international journals. He also serves on the editorial boards and programme committee of several local and international journals and conferences of repute. He has undeniably earned the respect of many business practitioners with his rich industrial and academic experience.
